I, object is a practice-based PhD exhibition using clay and illustration to explore Western women’s body image. It consists of two spaces: one features the community table dressed with objects made by the women involved in the research and me. They intend to further critical conversations around cultural body image pressures and influences, and how the social construct of body image affects us all in different ways. The foyer area exhibits autoethnographic object illustrations of my personal experience, curated in my reimagined childhood home. This highlights how this personal space is also shaped by broader cultural discourse on body image.
